Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon Android 5.1 Update [Lollipop Update]

    Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon are the four major cellphone carriers in United States. All of these operator carry high-end Android phones in the portfolio and satisfy customers, they should provide them with timely software updates. In this guide we outline when will your contract, carrier locked phone will receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update after when 5.0 is delivered.

    HTC One M8 for both Sprint and Verizon will continue to receive upcoming build by Android although HTC didn't comment on when the 5.1 firmware should be available. As the 5.0 roll out was carried on February first week, time frame of March second or third week should be appropriate.

    Sadly, Android 5.0 Lollipop will be final update to One M7 phone.

    Samsung Galaxy Note 4

    Galaxy Note 4 across all the carriers in United States will get the 5.1 update but it will need heavy UI customization and compatibility for SPen, SPen apps. That will be major reason for delay in Galaxy Note 4 5.1 update. [ETA April-May 2015]

    Samsung Galaxy S5

    The Samsung Galaxy S5 should definitely be included in the upgrade list. It should be available for SM-G900A, SM-G900T, SM-G900W8 for Canada, SM-G900M for Vodafone, SM-G900F Europe, G900K/G900L/G900S for Korea. ETA can be assumed April 2015.

    LG G3

    The LG flagship phone with amazing hardware makes it to the list as well. Recently US carriers rollout 5.0 Lollipop to it and 5.1 isn't far away. March third week is probably what we are expecting.

    LG G Flex 2

    The first phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor should get Android 5.1 update close with LG G3 time-frame.
