Once connected, open iTunes app in the computer. Open the summary tab and click on “Back Up Now” in the Manually Backup and Restore section. iTunes will now save the phone’s data in an image file and it will be saved in the computer. To restore the backup, follow the same procedure, except that in this case, you click on the “Restore Backup” button.
Backing up to iCloud
iCloud creates an automatic backup of camera roll, accounts, documents and settings when the phone is connected to internet. It offers 5 GB of free storage. The iCloud backup can be turned on by opening the same from the settings menu in the home screen and to create a backup it must be connected to wireless network and power source.
“Manage storage” section helps the users to understand which apps are backed up and how much storage is available. To restore the content, start the setup assistant of the new phone and restore the data using your Apple ID. If restore is required to be done in the current device, go to reset and tap on “Erase all Content and Settings” and choose to restore from iCloud backup option.
